In spite of alarms raised over the past 10 years, broadcast engineers continue to be fewer in number as we all get older and start to look at retirement. There are a few younger folks coming in, as well as transitioning from other industries, such as IT, so it’s incumbent on us to do what we can to pass the torch, to show them how to do the job safely and efficiently. Chris Tarr has been doing just this for decades and in this session we discuss some of the best ways for us to pass the knowledge down, so that the next generation has the ability to carry our industry to where the future may take it! We also talk about the SBE mentorship program and how it’s taken a leadership role in this task.
