Transmission Talk Tuesday: HD Primer

Even though HD Radio transmission has been progressing for two decades, there are a sizable number of people that don’t feel confident it can be implemented without problems. Repeated discussions tend to indicate that a lot of that thinking is based on either less than optimal installations, or misunderstandings with respect to the current state of the technology. A lot of these technology challenges that are thought to be faced have been overcome.

In this session, Jeff speaks with folks who have implemented HD installations, we’ll learn what worked and what didn’t from a technical perspective, and try to sort out the “gotchas.” Note that this session won’t get into the need (or lack of) for HD… that’s a programming decision that isn’t germane to the technology. The purpose of this session is to ensure that, if you’re tasked with implementing an HD Radio upgrade, you have the tools needed to make your installation the best it can possibly be, from a purely technical perspective.
