Nautel Radio Technology Forum Returns to NAB 2024

Annual “must-attend” event for hundreds of Radio engineers returns to Las Vegas with a preview of new technologies and ideas at NAB.

Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia; NAB Booth W3042 – Nautel, celebrating 55 years of transmitter innovation, will present its annual Radio Technology Forum on Sunday, April 14. Known to many as “The NUG”, the event, which will take place at the Flamingo Las Vegas, begins at 8:30 AM and will be hosted by award winning broadcast educator, Jeff Welton.

In a departure from prior years’ events, the first hour of the Forum will be an “Industry Briefing Breakfast” where industry-wide topics will be shared with attendees. A potentially provocative presentation titled “EAS at the Edge” will be included in this portion of the Forum, along with Radio World Editor Paul McLane’s “What I’m Watching for at NAB” talk. Additional topics will be presented as well. The remainder of the Forum will cover important product announcements and feature notable Radio industry speakers. Jeff Welton will close out the morning with his popular “tips and tricks” session that focuses on content helpful to all radio broadcasters. In the afternoon a separate “HD Radio 101” session will be held, directed to anyone contemplating an HD radio deployment or just wanting a refresh on HD Radio transmission best practices.

“We realize the NAB exhibits open at 10 on Sunday, so the Industry Briefing Breakfast portion of our meeting is timed to give people the opportunity to head over to the show. We work hard to make sure the content in that first hour is of interest to all broadcasters, no matter what brand of transmitters they operate,” said John Whyte, Nautel Head of Marketing and Product Strategy. “For those who are able to stay until the end of the Forum, we will offer lunch as usual. And, because it’s Nautel’s 55th anniversary we’re celebrating with over 55 prizes to be awarded throughout the morning.”

The Radio Technology Forum is open to all broadcasters and is free to attend; it qualifies as ½ SBE Recertification credit as well. To register for the Radio Technology Forum, visit nautel.com/nab/nug-registration/.
