These days, the mini computers are taking over the world – for well under $100 you can get a full blown computer on a circuit board less than 10cm square, with peripherals. Add another $50 or so and you can include a complete starter kit with breadboards, components, interfaces and instructions on learning various programming languages – these are the things that are replacing the old electronics kits that a lot of us grew up with, a Heathkit for the new millennium, one might say.
