Ben Downs, VP and GM, Bryan Broadcasting and Greg Borgen, president of WDGY/WREY, have both been very visible proponents of AM HD Radio technology and AM in general. Ben authored the FCC request for rulemaking that triggered the MA3 (all digital AM) Report and Order that was officially approved on October 27th of this year. One of Greg’s stations, WDGY, was a test bed for the all digital MA3 testing carried out by Xperi and NAB Labs in 2014/2015. We’ll talk about AM in general and HD on AM specifically, as well as where these owners see the industry going over the near and long terms.
