Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia – Radio Light FM 103.9, located in Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil, has installed two new Nautel FM transmitters to replace outdated tube-type equipment. Claudio Carneiro, Vice President of Radio Extra de Belo Horizonte – Brazil(Radio Light FM), said the GV60 and GV20 transmitters were the first Nautel units purchased for Radio Light FM 103.9. “However, we have been working with Nautel since 1997, and have purchased many AM and FM transmitters from them for other stations under our responsibility,” he said. Carneiro noted that the GV60 and GV20 transmitters allow the station to migrate to a new FM transmitting class that was granted by the Brazilian communications body.
Carneiro worked with his company’s RF supervisor Paulo Henrique Souza and audio technician Higor Almeida to complete the installation. Nautel assistance was provided by Carlos Avila Pereira, Regional Sales Manager, Latin America and Caribbean. “Carlos made everything absolutely perfect,” said Carneiro. “With the installation of the new transmitters, we gained a lot in range and efficiency.”
