Nautel Named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies

Toronto, ON – March 8, 2018 – Nautel has been awarded the prestigious “Canada’s Best Managed Companies” designation which recognizes overall business performance and sustained growth.

Now in its 25th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business awards programs recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies for innovative, world-class business practices. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the calibre of their management abilities and practices.

Nautel, founded in 1969, is the world’s largest manufacturer of broadcast radio transmitters with more than 15,000 transmitters deployed in 177 countries. The privately-held company has, over the past ten years, moved to the forefront of radio broadcast transmission with the introduction of four innovative product lines and a number of award-winning technologies. Recent company achievements include the completion of one of the world’s largest Medium Wave transmission facilities – a 2 Megawatt station in Hungary – and the deployment of the world’s largest DRM (digital radio) broadcasting system, involving transmitters at more than 30 locations throughout India.

“Being amongst the best in class requires more than financial performance,” said Peter Brown, Partner, Deloitte and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “Achieving sustained growth and strong overall business performance is the result of the combined efforts and commitment of the entire organization.”

Applicants are evaluated by an independent judging panel comprised of representatives from program sponsors in addition to special guest judges. 2018 Best Managed companies share commonalities that include a clear strategy and vision, investment in capability and commitment to talent.

“Everyone at Nautel has demonstrated an extraordinary level of commitment not only to our growth, but to the core reasons for our existence in the industry,” said Kevin Rodgers, Nautel President and CEO. “Our product innovations are paired with an intense focus on customer support. Each member of the Nautel team – no matter what their title or department in the company – is invested in working with our customers and making sure our solutions meet customer needs… which leads to sustained success for the company. Having our team efforts recognized with this prestigious award is an honor for everyone at Nautel.”

2018 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 11, 2018. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.

The Best Managed program is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business, TMX Group and MacKay CEO Forums.
