Nautel Expands VX Series with New 8 kW and 10 kW Models

VX8 and VX10 bring the modular design, easy serviceability, and proven reliability of the VX Series to higher-power rack-mount analog FM.

Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia; IBC Stand 8.B73 — Nautel has announced the VX8 and VX10, new 8 kW and 10 kW analog FM transmitters that extend the VX Series power range from 150 W to 10 kW. The new rack-mount models give broadcasters a compact, serviceable, and cost-effective option for higher-power main, standby, and N+1 FM applications.

A modular design separates the transmitter into an exciter/controller, splitter/combiner, and two amplifiers, so each assembly can be installed and serviced individually rather than as a single heavy transmitter chassis. With the amplifier power supplies removed, no individual assembly weighs more than 22.7 kg (50 lb).

Built on the established VX platform, VX8 and VX10 combine advanced features with outstanding value:

  • 8 kW and 10 kW analog FM in a rack-mount design
  • Modular exciter/controller, splitter/combiner, and amplifier assemblies
  • Solderless, replaceable PA pallets; front-access washable filters
  • Direct-to-channel digital exciter; RDS, SNMP, presets
  • Award-winning instrumentation and control (HTML5 AUI)
  • Built-in audio playback and playlists
  • Icecast, Shoutcast®*, and HLS streaming inputs, selectable as primary or backup with automatic switchover
  • Optional Orban Inside™ audio processing
  • 4-year warranty and 24/7 customer support

“Our VX Series has been enthusiastically received, with more than 1,500 shipped,” said John Whyte, Nautel Head of Marketing and Product Strategy. “The line’s simplicity, serviceability, and reliability are now extended to higher power levels, meeting customer demand for models at 8 and 10 kW with a modular design.”

The VX8 and VX10 are scheduled for shipment in Q1 2027, and will be featured at IBC and NAB NY. For more information, visit https://www.nautel.com/products/fm-transmitters/vx-series/
