Nautel Adds HD Upgrade for Popular NVLT FM
Value-priced NVLT systems now provide a path to digital operation.
NAB 2017, Booth N8324 – Nautel has announced an update to the company’s popular NVLT Series. These transmitters, which now give users an easy path to HD Radio™ operation, are designed to provide exceptional value to users while offering a suite of advanced capabilities available only through Nautel.
“While most customers who choose NVLT transmitters are focused on Analog transmission today, many have told us that they’d like the ability to upgrade to HD Radio broadcasting in the future,” said Kevin Rodgers, Nautel President and CEO. “We listened. Thanks to the efforts of our design team, NVLT transmitters can now be easily field-upgraded to support HD Radio transmission with an add-on Exciter.”
NVLT transmitters were first introduced in 2012 and 2013, with a choice of output power levels ranging from 3.5 kW to 40 kW. “The NVLT transmitter line has proven to be the most cost effective choice for broadcasters,” said Rodgers. “NVLT Field reliability has also been outstanding, with critical amplifier and power supply modules achieving mean time between failure rates in excess of millions of hours. We’re proud to say that Nautel’s NVLT and GV series transmitters are among the most reliable transmitters that have ever been designed by Nautel in its 48 year history.” Rodgers noted that this latest HD upgrade enhancement to the line joins prior updates to the NVLT series over the past few years including simple site control, PS scrolling functionality for RDS, an oscilloscope function and more.
“Nautel has made a strong commitment over the years to our products and customers,” said Rodgers. “Part of that commitment is continuous improvement of our existing products. This update underscores our commitment not only to the viability of HD Radio, but to keeping products both relevant and useful for our customers.”
Nautel is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of AM and FM radio broadcast transmitters. With more than 15,000 transmitters deployed in over 177 countries since 1970 and more than 7,000 deployments of AUI-enabled transmitters, Nautel continues to lead the way in providing valuable new solutions for digital radio broadcasting and other applications.
