FEBCambodia Selects GV10 for its High Efficiency and Reliability
Family FM 99.5, located in Phnom Penh is happy to be the first station in Cambodia to install one of Nautel’s new GV line of transmitters. FEBC International association member FEBCambodia, working with the support of FEBC’s International Support Team chose the new GV line primarily because of its high efficiency.
In the picture below we see (L to R) FEBCambodia board members Troy Tabor and Rick DeGraaf, His Excellency, Minister Khieu Kanharith, Ministry of Information, FEBCambodia Field Director Sopheary Hem with her husband Mades and FEBCambodia board member, Mr. Kim Yoeum as they are introduced to the new transmitter following the dedication of the upgraded transmitter site.
International Support Team coordinator, Guy West, emailed his comments for the dedication, writing;
“The Nautel GV Series is a high-quality transmitter and its displays and instrumentation are, in our opinion, the best in the world. This transmitter is easy for our transmitter technicians to run and it is easy to see if it is operating legally and properly thanks to its award winning Advanced User Interface. With its accurate power metering and a spectrum analyzer display we always know that we are operating within the limits of the national regulations for FM broadcast.”
“Nautel’s field-proven high-power FM architecture also makes regulatory authorities happy because it has one of the cleanest radio signals of any transmitter available on the market at any price. This transmitter has very low levels of spurious emissions and with advanced digital modulation technology the transmitted signal is always very clean and accurate.”
“In our long experience with Nautel’s transmitters, we know that they will last for decades and they just keep running, but if anything does happen the local transmitter staff are not alone. Using the Advanced User Interface through the internet both FEBC International Service Team engineers and Nautel’s outstanding field support team can assist FEBCambodia in troubleshooting any problems.”
This new GV10 replaces a transmitter we disparagingly call “The Italian Job.” Now that the Nautel is on line, our support guys will enjoy far fewer emergencies.
Nautel is FEBC’s standard transmitter for FM, we think Nautel is “The Standard” for FM. We send our sincere thanks to the dedicated folks at Nautel who design, manufacture, sell and support a product that they can be proud of and that we love to use.
Speaking in Khmer, His Excellency told Director Hem that if we only have one light, we should still keep lighting it so that it will shine on the people of Cambodia. We very much appreciated the time His Excellency was able to spare to attend. We also want to thank our local Nautel Distributor, Alain Guay and his staff at Sogitec Cambodia for their help in making sure the transmitter would be ready for inspection by the visitors.
