Nautel Packs Features, Efficiency and Value into New NVLT 3.5 – 10 kW Analog FM Transmitters
Award winning capabilities including IP audio, Push Radio, Livewire, intelligent audio backup, Shoutcast and more incorporated into new NVLT FM transmitters.
NAB 2012, Booth C2623 — Nautel has launched the new NVLT line of transmitters that marry the proven architecture of its highly successful NV Series with the intelligent features of the award winning VS Series. These new analog only transmitters complement the digital capable NV Series and are optimized to provide both exceptional value and the advanced capabilities only offered by Nautel.
“We based this new design on a proven architecture, added more capabilities than any other transmitter available today, and then made it more affordable with even lower ongoing operating costs,” said Scott Marchand, NVLT design lead.
Operational capabilities, first popularized in the VS Series, include analog or AES digital input; PushRadio™; Livewire IP Audio I/O; Shoutcast or IceCast streaming input; local content storage; USB audio backup; dynamic RDS, dual SCA and stereo coders; scheduler and playlists. An Orban Inside™ option with full Advanced User Interface (AUI) integration is also available. Control capabilities include full local or remote access via Nautel’s award winning web based AUI with onboard audio spectrum analyzer, modulation monitor and other powerful instrumentation. The advanced remote capabilities of Nautel’s AUI can help engineers save time, trips and money.
As with other Nautel transmitters, the NVLT Series has an integrated, full-featured direct to channel digital exciter with industry leading performance specifications and modular solid-state, hot-swappable, redundant architecture. The NVLT Series also boasts the highest efficiency in its class: 72%. A redundancy package is also optionally available which provides dual FM exciters in a hot standby configuration as well as redundant power supplies.
“Were honored that broadcasters have embraced Nautel’s vision for advanced capabilities in our successful VS Series and NV transmitter families,” said Peter Conlon, Nautel President and CEO. “The outstanding value and affordability of this latest offering makes Nautel’s award winning functionality more accessible than ever before.”
CJNI, Halifax placed a 10 kW NVLT on the air early this month. Engineer Rodney McQuade of Rogers Broadcast (pictured in photo) says, “This transmitter is wonderful – no issues whatsoever. We did a couple of power outage simulations and the switchover to generator power works great.”
NVLT transmitters are available in 3.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 kW (analog only) configurations, and are now shipping.
Nautel has emerged as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of AM and FM radio broadcast transmitters.
