Nautel announced today that All India Radio (AIR) has conveyed final acceptance of a large transmitter project involving the commissioning of 27 digital-equipped medium wave transmitters throughout the country of India. This project will be discussed in a Webinar which will be held this Wednesday, October 4, titled “Building for a Billion.”

AIR’s digital broadcasting system, the largest in the world, uses high-power (100 – 300 kW) Nautel MW transmitters, each equipped for DRM30 transmission, at 27 separate sites throughout the country. This massive project was commissioned by India’s Prasar Bharati for All India Radio and has the goal of bringing digital radio to nearly a billion residents of the country. (AIR has recently ordered another six Nautel transmitters which will further expand the reach of their digital network.)

In this week’s Webinar, Nautel’s Chuck Kelly and Stephen Farley as well as guest Rakesh Aggarwal of Comcon Industries will go behind the scenes to share the details of this complex multi-site high power MW deployment.
