"Nautel is a world leader that has demonstrated it can compete effectively in global markets. Its products are of the highest quality and it provides a level of service to its clients that is world class. I am very excited to lead the Nautel team as we enter our next phase of growth." Kevin Rodgers, Nautel President and CEO.

Nautel is a global leader in the design, manufacture, sales and support of transmitters for AM/FM radio stations, navigation, sonar systems, and industrial RF technology. Our outstanding reliability, global presence, product efficiency and exceptional support have resulted in more than 16,000 Nautel transmitter deployments in 177 countries.

Nautel-Broadcast-SolutionsSince 2003 the radio industry has seen the first major shift in technology in decades, the move to digital radio. Digital radio, also known as HD Radio, is the next generation of terrestrial radio and Nautel has been quick to provide the technology that allows radio stations to broadcast a digital signal promising listeners a higher quality broadcast where AM sounds like FM and FM sounds like CD quality. HD Radio also allows broadcasters to offer up to two additional radio stations with unique programming on the same frequency as their current analog signal.
Today, Nautel offers the world’s broadest portfolio of solid state digital and analog radio transmitters with models ranging from 1 kW to 2000 kW MW and 300 W to 88 kW FM. We were the first manufacturer to offer commercial DRM+ transmitters and lead the way in HD Radio innovation.

Nautel-Navigation-Solutions Building solid-state navigational beacons was how Nautel started over 49 years ago and is still a major part of Nautel today. Nautel is a leading supplier of NDB and NDGPS systems as well as the emerging enhanced LORAN (LOng RAnge Navigation) technology in the US and Europe.
Nautel designers have evolved the relationship between the non-directional beacon (NDB), antenna tuning unit (ATU) and the antenna itself to create radio beacons dependable enough to be trusted for the most mission-critical applications.

Rocket Science

Nautel-Rocket-Science Nautel expanded its reach into the exciting world of rocket science by working on developing RF generators for use in Plasma Rockets. Nautel worked closely with the US space company Ad Astra to develop a radio-frequency plasma amplifier for use in plasma rocket propulsion systems.
Utilizing high efficiency solid state RF generators made by Nautel, Ad Astra’s VASIMR® VX-200 rocket project achieved a highly-coveted new power milestone of 200 kW maximum power in September, 2009. Originally studied by NASA, this technology is expected to revolutionize space travel greatly reducing the operational costs of space exploration and shortening transit times for missions to Mars.
