Nautel to Showcase New FM, High Power MW and Digital Transmission Products at IBC NV Series provides advanced FM operation capabilities; low power products offer unique features including Axia Livewire support; live DRM+ and HD Radio demonstration to be presented. IBC 2009 Preview Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia -- Nautel Limited (IBC stand 8.C61) continues to expand its range of radio transmission products, including new offerings in low power FM and digital transmission. The company recently introduced the broadcast industry’s most complete line of solid state FM transmitters, building on the overwhelming customer response to its groundbreaking 44kW NV40. Nautel now offers eight NV Series models with FM output power ranging from 3.5 kW to 44 kW: the NV3.5; NV5; NV7.5; NV10; NV15; NV20; NV30 and the flagship NV40. These products offer cost effective solutions for stations operating at virtually any FM power output level. All NV Series transmitters are digital-ready, offer advanced instrumentation and include an integral digital exciter. New for low power FM is the VS Series, ultra compact transmitters occupying only 2, 3 or 4 rack units including the exciter. The VS300, VS1 and VS2.5 bring Nautel’s renowned transmission performance to broadcasters operating on 300, 1000 or 2500 watts. VS products have been designed for reliable operation under harsh conditions and are also the first FM transmitters in the industry to incorporate internet audio I/O and Axia Livewire support. Customers using the Axia Livewire protocol will be able to connect their livewire networks directly to a VS Series transmitter with a single RJ-45 cable; no intermediary connections or D/A conversions will be needed. Now offering medium wave power outputs from 25 kW to 2000 kW, Nautel’s NX Series has been expanded with the addition of the NX25 transmitter. The NX25 provides industry leading efficiency, outstanding linearity and integral DRM or HD Radio operation. These new products join Nautel’s comprehensive line of AM, FM and MW transmission products that are rapidly becoming the most popular radio transmitters throughout the world. The NV Series of FM transmitters, NX Series of AM transmitters and VS Series of low power FM transmitters are designed for maximum redundancy, easy servicing, compact footprint and top efficiency. Included in the products is Nautel’s exclusive Advanced User Interface (AUI), a powerful diagnostic and monitoring tool with built-in instrumentation. NV and NX Series transmitters implement the AUI using an 17” color touch-screen while VS Series AUI access is by way of a user supplied laptop. Using a web browser 100% of the AUI functionality can be accessed anywhere there is an internet connection. Nautel will also underscore its digital radio leadership with live demonstrations of HD Radio and the first commercially available DRM+ transmitters. Nautel offers a comprehensive portfolio of reliable and robust digital radio solutions that permit broadcasters to transmit three stations on one frequency or even surround sound. “We are excited to offer these new products that will address the specific transmission needs of broadcasters,” said Peter Conlon, Nautel President and CEO. “Throughout the world, broadcasters continue to endorse our solutions and are helping to position Nautel as the supplier of choice in the radio industry.
