11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
The Hilton Anatole Hotel,
Dallas, TX, Steuben Room
You are invited to attend the annual Nautel Users' Group (NUG) session in Dallas, Texas! This year's topics include:
A sneak peek of what's new at Nautel Our engineers will discuss new product additions including the new XR3 and XR6 transmitters to be introduced at the Fall Radio Show. Also hear about Nautel’s new remote monitor and control options.
Case Study #1: XR6 Installation - Clear Channel Radio
An ideal AM HD radio installation requires a linear transmitter and wideband antenna system carefully matched to the transmitter, to present the correct cusp orientation. Nautel will present an economic solution for a successful HD radio installation without antenna optimization.
Case Study #2: FM2 HD Installation
As more and more FM radio stations are implementing the HD Radio Broadcast System Architecture (HD BSA) in order to broadcast digital radio, the exporter-exgine platform emerges as a bandwidth efficient method of HD content delivery from the studio to the transmitter site. This allows the majority of the HD equipment to be installed at the studio site. The HD BSA provides two basic means of establishing a data connection between the exporter and exgine platforms. Nautel will also present a third alternative of establishing a reliable data connection to the transmitter site that addresses many of the challenges inherent to this type of data connection. The advantages and disadvantages of each method are presented to provide station engineers with the information on how to best implement the HD BSA for their specific situation. A Nautel recommended network topology is presented along with a case study based on a real world implementation of this network topology.
STL for HD Radio: HD Radio™ and Multicasting place new bidirectional data requirements on the once simple Studio Transmitter Link. Innovative IP-based applications such as mirrored servers, IP-based control and Internet and email connections save money, time and protect valuable station assets. Bill Gould of Moseley discusses new solutions for digital STL/TSL and adding LAN/WAN connectivity to the transmitter site.

What is the Nautel Users' Group?
The Nautel Users' Group is a group if interested and active owners of Nautel Equipment. Membership benefits include:
- Three annual NUG forums:
- NUG @ Fall Radio
- NUG @ NAB (in Las Vegas)
- NUG @ Nautel (hosted at a Nautel facility)
- A quarterly NUGGET newsletter featuring troubleshooting tips and tricks from Nautel's Customer Service department and user reports from Nautel users.
- Online access to Nautel's restricted NUG website which contains valuable technical FAQs, information sheets, and field upgrade documents.
- Special NUG discounts on select Nautel training programs.
