Nautel Products Win Three Industry Awards

Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia – Nautel Limited has again been recognized as an innovator in the design of broadcast transmitters at the annual National Association of Broadcasters convention. Two trade publications in the radio industry awarded Nautel their coveted "Pick Hit" and "Cool Stuff" awards at the end of the convention, which took place last month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A “Pick Hit” award was given to Nautel’s new NV40 high power FM transmitter by Radio Magazine. The new NV40 offers the highest single cabinet power output of any FM transmitter available with a maximum analog power output of 44 kW. It offers three modes of operation: HD, Hybrid and Analog. The NV40 has an integral digital exciter which supports adaptive pre-correction, and offers a plug-in upgrade to the HD Radio® Exgine. The magazine’s Pick Hits panel, composed of respected and experienced engineers in the radio industry, selected the magazine’s winners based on innovation, whether a product filled a genuine need in radio broadcasting, and an expected ship date during the year.
Radio World Magazine gave Nautel two “Cool Stuff” awards for the NX50 and Exporter Plus products. The new NX50 is the next generation of Nautel’s 50 kW transmitter. The NX50 supports all HD Radio or DRM® modes and has an embedded Exgine IBOC generator. The NX50 provides adaptive precorrection, 2.7 mHz Direct Digital Modulation, and 88% efficiency, the best in the industry. The Exporter Plus, Nautel’s new IBOC Exporter for encoding HD RadioTM signals, replaces PC-based Exporters that have been used in Exgine-based HD Radio systems for about three years. The new product is a robust firmware based solution, which boots quickly, and is a fraction of the price of older designs.
