Nautel Participates in High Accuracy GPS Demonstrations
Nautel Vector D transmitters support High Accuracy Nationwide Differential Global Positioning System (HA-NDGPS) project at ION GNSS 2007

Nautel Limited, a radio and communications beacon manufacturer based in Bangor, Maine and Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia, has announced that its Vector D transmitters will again be used in a concept demonstration of HA-NDGPS at the upcoming ION GNSS 2007 conference in September. This undertaking will be a follow on to the successful demonstration provided at ION GNSS 2006.
The High Accuracy Nationwide Differential Global Positioning System project was established to assess the implementation feasibility for improving the accuracy of the NDGPS service, using the existing infrastructure, to meet the requirements of additional applications without decreasing availability and integrity and still meeting the needs of existing users. Partner agencies include the Federal Highway Administration, the US Coast Guard, the Federal Railroad Administration, the US Army Corps of Engineers, the National Geodetic Survey, the Forecast Systems Laboratory and the Interagency GPS Executive Board.
The three major goals of the project are to examine ways to enable 3-D dynamic positioning at the centimeter level throughout the US, coexist with existing infrastructure, and minimize deployment costs. Nautel’s reliable and efficient Vector D transmitters are being used to broadcast corrections to users using a ground-wave technique.
